Egorov Slams Solana Ecosystem Products Over User Experience
Michael Egorov, the founder of Curve Finance, took aim at two prominent Solana ecosystem products in a recent exchange. He criticized memecoin platform Pump.fun, calling it 'a casino of scams called memecoins.' Tomi204, co-founder of ClawPump and a key figure in Pump.fun's development, pushed back on Egorov's criticism, arguing that users themselves determine how the service is used.
Egorov also expressed dissatisfaction with the user experience of Phantom, a popular crypto wallet on the Solana network. He claimed that using a hardware wallet with Phantom delivered a worse experience than MetaMask. However, Tomi204 countered that Phantom may still be the best choice for average users due to its ease of use.
Egorov took his criticism further by suggesting that wallets and other software can deteriorate once they achieve market recognition. This implies that even successful products in the crypto space can eventually become less user-friendly or more prone to errors.
On a more positive note, Egorov credited Solana with supporting its ecosystem well. However, he noted that the strongest examples emerging from that ecosystem were not particularly strong.
