El Reno officials have announced plans to bill the owner of a Bitcoin mining facility after a significant water leak. According to reports, approximately 3.8 million gallons leaked from the data center at 801 West Jensen Road on September 1. The incident drained the local water tower and led to odd/even outdoor watering restrictions remaining in effect.

Interim City Manager Ken Brown stated that the city will charge the property owner for the wasted water and related overtime labor costs. No criminal charges have been filed, and a zoning hearing is scheduled for September 14.
