El Salvador Doubles Down on Bitcoin Reserves with Private Donations

El Salvador's government has confirmed that it increased its national Bitcoin reserve to 7,762 BTC. The country maintains its policy of acquiring one unit per day regardless of market fluctuations.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) previously expressed concerns about El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin as a legal tender and the use of state funds for cryptocurrency purchases. However, according to government officials, the expansion of the national reserve was made possible through private donations.

Strive, one of the corporate holders, acquired 1,800 BTC in August at an average price of $79,431 per unit, while Strategy resumed its bitcoin purchases after a two-month pause and bought 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million last week.
