ElizaOS, an open-source AI-agent framework token, has plummeted to a record low after its creator, Shaw Walters, declared it 'dead' and announced that the Eliza Foundation is winding down.

The token's market capitalization dropped by 19% over 24 hours, reaching $2.1 million, according to CoinGecko data. At the time of writing, ElizaOS was trading at around $0.000285, having briefly hit a record low of $0.000284 on Thursday.

The collapse reverses a major prior run-up, when the project's earlier version peaked at about $2.5 billion market cap in January 2025.

Walters attributed the token's demise to ongoing legal problems and a settlement with a group of tokenholders represented by Burwick Law. He stated that the team privately settled, giving the represented tokenholders the project's remaining treasury and funds.
