Emerald Security Token Taps Polygon for Compliance-Driven Emerald Exposure
The Emerald Security Token (EMRL.D) is a digital security token issued on the Polygon blockchain, aiming to provide investors with tokenized exposure to the emerald market. The project's goal is to address the structural illiquidity and opacity of the emerald market by standardizing, financing, custodianship, pricing, and distributing high-value Colombian stones through public markets.
The token's issuer, P/E Capital DAO LLC, filed a Regulation A offering circular in July 2026, highlighting the project's shift from a utility-token framing to a securities-oriented real-world-asset product. EMRL.D holders receive contractual economic exposure rather than direct title to emeralds or an unconditional redemption right.
The token operates on Polygon PoS, utilizing Heimdall as the proof-of-stake consensus layer and Bor for EVM execution. The project's distinctive features are legal, operational, and compliance-oriented, with no bespoke emerald-token blockchain. EMRL.D inherits Polygon's validator and bridge risks, adding smart-contract, oracle, custody, valuation, KYC, and issuer-administration risk.
