Emirates Accepts Crypto Payments in Major Move for Shiba Inu
Emirates has made headlines in the crypto community by announcing that it will accept cryptocurrency payments for airline ticket bookings on its website and mobile app. The move is significant as it expands real-world use cases for Shiba Inu (SHIB), a meme coin that has been gaining traction in recent months.
The payment option, which is available through Crypto.com Pay, supports 30 cryptocurrencies, including major digital assets like Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP. Eligible users are currently limited to qualified customers residing in the United Arab Emirates who hold a Crypto.com account.
According to the report, users can select Crypto.com Pay at checkout, and Crypto.com will process the transaction to complete payment in supported cryptocurrencies. The market is paying attention to this development as an expansion of Shiba Inu's commercial use, with some viewing it as a sign that the coin is becoming more mainstream.
Shiba Inu began as a single-token project released by a developer group known as Ryoshi in August 2020. Since then, it has expanded into an ecosystem with multiple tokens, the ShibaSwap decentralized exchange, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and the Shibarium layer-2 blockchain.
