Emirates Airlines Takes Flight with Crypto Payments via Crypto.com
Emirates Airlines has become the latest major brand to integrate cryptocurrency payments into its flight booking platform, marking a significant milestone for Shiba Inu (SHIB) adoption. The airline now allows eligible customers to pay for flights using 30 cryptocurrencies, including SHIB, through Crypto.com Pay on both its website and mobile application.
The Emirates integration is the commercial rollout of the strategic partnership announced between the two companies in July 2025. This move supports Dubai's ambition to become a global hub for digital finance and aligns with the emirate's Cashless Strategy under the D33 Economic Agenda.
Shiba Inu's adoption continues to grow ahead of its sixth anniversary, which falls on August 1. The token has evolved into a broader ecosystem featuring multiple tokens, ShibaSwap decentralized exchange, NFTs, and the Shibarium Layer-2 blockchain. Since its launch in August 2023, Shibarium has processed over 1.56 billion transactions across 18.31 million blocks.
The Emirates integration is another tangible use case for SHIB, demonstrating that it continues to gain commercial utility even as its market price remains significantly below its peak. At press time, SHIB trades at $0.000004600, representing a decline of about 94.8% from its all-time high of $0.00008845.
