$ENA Price Surges as Ethereum Eliminates Token Inflation
The synthetic dollar protocol Ethereum ($ENA) has announced that it will completely eliminate token inflation related to its USDe growth by the end of September. This decision marks a significant shift in the protocol's model from one focused on growth promotion to a more sustainable approach.
Since the initial airdrop in 2024, token incentives for $USDe have been reduced by approximately 85%. The Ethena team has expressed gratitude towards users who contributed to $USDe reaching its current scale. As a result of this change, the price of $ENA has surged, rising to $0.28 according to HTX data.
The recent increase in $ENA's price is also influenced by Ethereum's new collaboration with Binance. The protocol plans to expand its 'basis trade' strategy beyond cryptocurrency perpetual futures markets to include equity perpetual futures. This move will allow Ethena to leverage a new revenue stream linked to traditional equity markets.
