ERCOT Approves Over 13GW of Power Capacity Through Batch Zero Process
The Texas grid operator ERCOT has released public disclosures revealing that it has conditionally approved over 5 GW of capacity for new AI deployments as part of its Batch Zero process.
Batch Zero is a process launched in June 2026 to address the large number of interconnection requests from data centers, primarily Bitcoin mining operations.
The conditional capacity approvals total approximately 13.275 GW, with over 5 GW earmarked for AI deployments.
The largest recipient so far has been Galaxy Digital, which disclosed 4.23 GW of conditional capacity across five Texas sites.
