ETF Demand Tests Bitcoin's Ability to Clear $82K Resistance
Bitcoin's price has been trading above $79,000 after US spot ETFs pulled in $730.9 million in one day, their second-largest daily inflows of the year.
This surge in institutional buying has set up a test for Bitcoin: can it break through the closely watched resistance level of $82,000?
Crypto analysis platform CryptoRus frames this as a bullish test rather than a completed breakout. They point to three signals worth tracking:
The ETF print itself: despite a stronger-than-expected US jobs report briefly pressuring the market, Bitcoin held near $80,000.
A leverage reset: $554.2 million in crypto positions were liquidated over 24 hours, with $471.4 million of that being shorts and $276.7 million coming from BTC alone.
And Zcash's recent price surge: it climbed from around $40 to above $1,200 over the past year and pushed into the top ten cryptocurrencies, indicating speculative capital is concentrating around a scarcity narrative.
A breakout still needs confirmation: Bitcoin remains down close to 28% over the past year and around 37% below its October high of $126,000. Daily trading volume sits near $22 billion, up about 13% from the prior session.
