ETF Inflows Fuel Market Support as Derivatives Positioning Builds
Crypto ETF inflows have reached record levels, raising questions about whether they're reflecting something the broader market hasn't yet priced in.
The setup becomes more interesting when considering the macro backdrop. Volatility is building into Q4, and Q3 has ended on a volatile note following the Federal Reserve's rate hike for the first time in years.
Risk assets have barely reacted to these developments, but technical indicators suggest that Bitcoin dominance is up this week, holding near 60% with BTC near $85k. At this point, ETF inflows start to matter, and strong inflows are helping absorb some of the macro pressure, keeping liquidity firmly on the buy side.
Bitcoin [BTC] ETFs have bought a record-breaking $2.3 billion in BTC this week, with high-cap altcoins also seeing sharp increases in ETF demand. Spot XRP ETFs attracted a staggering $76 million this week, their strongest weekly inflow since late August. Solana is showing an even stronger move, with spot SOL ETFs seeing $86 million of inflows on a daily basis, setting a new record for daily ETF inflows.
