ETF Inflows Sink to $31M as Bitcoin Struggles at $84K
The US Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw their weakest inflows in weeks on September 28, at $31 million. This decline in institutional demand comes as Bitcoin struggles to break through a major supply barrier around $84,000.
According to SoSoValue data, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust led the session with $54.84 million in inflows, adding about 657 BTC and lifting its holdings back above 800,000 BTC for the first time since May 26. However, this was not enough to offset outflows from other funds.
The trend of weakening ETF inflows has been steady since September 21, when daily inflows approached $1 billion. The latest total is about 97% below that peak. Despite this slowdown, the funds attracted $2.4 billion last week, their strongest weekly inflow of 2026.
The concentration of long-term-holder coins around $84,000 to $85,000 could increase selling pressure as holders return to breakeven or move back into profit. Glassnode says Bitcoin needs to break through this zone and hold above it for the rally to continue.
