ETH Staking Imbalance Swells to Over Thirteen to One Ratio
The Ethereum network has seen a significant surge in staking interest, with an imbalance of over thirteen to one between ETH waiting to enter and exit. According to data from WEEX, nearly 2.48 million ETH are currently awaiting staking, while only 131,040 ETH are queued for withdrawal.
This means that more than a third of the total Ether supply, approximately 43.2 million ETH, is now secured by validators on the network. These validators lock up their tokens to participate in consensus and earn an estimated annual yield of 2.58%.
The validator queue has reached a record high, with the activation delay exceeding 30 days due to Ethereum's 'churn limit' mechanism. This cap prevents too rapid a fluctuation in the number of participants on the network. The current pace means that it would take over a month to process all the deposit requests currently waiting.
