ETH Surges 60% in Q3, But Record High Remains Elusive
Ethereum's third quarter saw a remarkable rebound, with its price surging over 60% to reach around $2,600 on September 20. This impressive gain makes it Ethereum's second-strongest Q3 on record, just behind the 66.55% surge in Q3 2025 and surpassing the 59.5% run in Q3 2020.
The average Q3 gain for ETH sits at about 12.28%, making this quarter's performance all the more notable. Ethereum faced a tough start to the year, with losses of 29.26% from the first quarter and 25.28% from the second, leading many to question whether it could hold $2,000.
However, ETH not only held but also rallied, with spot Ethereum ETFs pulling in over $10 billion cumulatively over the quarter. Corporate treasuries have also become a source of demand, with public-company tracking showing BitMine Immersion Technologies holding more than 5.9 million ETH.
The supply side has also tightened, with over 43 million ETH staked, about 35% of supply, and a current APR near 2.5%. This reduced supply is contributing to the price increase, as new demand hits a thinner pool of coins.
