Ethereum Accumulation Spikes as Whales Move $238M from Binance
A significant Ethereum accumulation has been observed as whales moved 120,000 ETH, valued at $238 million, out of Binance over a three-week period. This large transfer indicates that high-net-worth investors prefer private wallets over exchange balances, reducing the available supply for trading on centralized platforms.
This behavior often precedes shifts in market sentiment and a reduction in total supply on all crypto exchanges, which fell from 21,301,177.2 ETH in July 2025 to 14,882,226.7 ETH as of September 8, 2026. The Beacon Deposit Contract holds 85.49 million ETH, accounting for 70.84% of the total counted on that list.
Institutional demand drives the current market structure, with corporate treasuries and institutional funds maintaining massive Ethereum positions. Morgan Stanley increased its ETHA holdings by 20%, reaching 4.6 million shares, and also holds 2.57 million shares of MSBT worth $43.3 million.
