Ethereum Aims to Revolutionize Blockchain with 2030 Vision
Ethereum's next major upgrade, Glamsterdam, is set to change how the network works at its core. Scheduled for Q4 2026, this hard fork will introduce two key changes: enshrined proposer-builder separation and block-level access lists.
However, Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has bigger plans in store for the network by 2030. He envisions a 'cryptographic world computer' that leverages zero-knowledge proofs, parallel computation, stronger privacy, faster finality, and post-quantum security.
This vision is built on the concept of validators no longer re-executing every transaction to confirm block validity. Instead, they could rely on specialized provers to execute blocks and create compact proofs of the result, which validators can then verify.
