Ethereum Bulls Eye September Gains Amid Strong Institutional Demand
Ethereum's strong performance in August has set the stage for a potentially bullish September. The second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization temporarily climbed above $2,550 and is currently trading at around $2,380. One reason for this optimism is the growing institutional demand, with spot ETH ETFs attracting over $1.5 billion in capital within the past 12 consecutive green days.
Another factor supporting a further price increase is the decline in Ethereum held on cryptocurrency exchanges. The figure has dropped to around 14.9 million coins, its lowest since the summer of 2016. This decrease suggests that investors are abandoning centralized platforms in favor of self-custody, thereby reducing immediate selling pressure.
Whale activity also points towards a bullish trend for Ethereum. Large investors have continued accumulating ETH in the current price range, while some mysterious market participants have bought more than $100 million in ETH.
