Ethereum Dealt Multiple Blows as Limit Break Attack and Whale Withdrawal Hit
Ethereum's news cycle has been busy, with multiple stories unfolding simultaneously. One such incident involves Limit Break, an NFT infrastructure project on Ethereum, which is reportedly under attack by hackers.
According to Blockaid, a blockchain security firm, attackers are impersonating legitimate NFT holders and using Payment Processor V2 to buy previously authorized NFTs at a price of zero. As of September 25, roughly $1.7 million in NFTs had already been transferred through the exploited contract.
Blockaid has urged users who have set Payment Processor V2 as an NFT operator to revoke that authorization immediately. This is because hackers can exploit this permission if a user grants it to a compromised or exploited smart contract.
Meanwhile, Metalpha withdrew 11,179 ETH, worth approximately $30.12 million, from Binance on September 25. While large withdrawals like this can draw attention from traders, it's essential to note that they don't necessarily confirm any specific intent.
