Ethereum Developers Propose Plan to Burn Validator Rewards

Ethereum developers are proposing a draft plan to burn validator rewards as staking reaches 50% of the total ETH supply.

The proposal, known as Tapered Issuance Burn, would gradually reduce new validator issuance and balance it with burning the same amount. This change would help control ETH supply and adjust issuance without making sudden changes to the network.

Supporters of the plan believe it could support the Ethereum price in the long run by controlling supply. However, others warn that lower staking rewards may reduce interest from institutions and affect decentralized finance (DeFi) users who depend on staked ETH as a yield-bearing asset.

The current ETH price remains in an important trading range, and traders are waiting to see whether buyers can push higher. If the market breaks above resistance, buying interest could increase.
