Ethereum Developers Scrap EIP-8363 Over Staking Participation Concerns
Ethereum developers have pulled EIP-8363 from the upcoming Hegota upgrade after industry feedback raised broader questions.
The proposal aimed to gradually burn more validator rewards as Ethereum's staking participation increases, but developers identified concerns involving network security, validator diversity, solo staking, and the proposed burn formula.
Jérôme de Tychey, president of Ethereum France, said that developers now want a separate process for discussing issuance policy, which could not be adequately resolved through Hegota's upgrade planning process.
