Ethereum ETFs Outpace Bitcoin in 2026 Inflows, But Sizeable Gap Remains
Ethereum spot ETFs attracted more new money than Bitcoin spot ETFs in 2026, with approximately $1.5 billion pouring in, compared to $985 million for Bitcoin funds. This data, sourced from SoSoValue, shows daily crypto ETF inflows and outflows. Spot ETFs directly hold the coins, so their share prices rise and fall with the cryptocurrency's market value.
Despite the higher inflow for Ethereum, Bitcoin ETFs remain significantly larger, with a total of around $109 billion in assets under management, while Ethereum funds hold approximately $18 billion. This raises an important question: how can Ethereum's 2026 inflows be impressive while Bitcoin ETFs remain six times larger?
Bitcoin ETFs experienced a notable recovery in the third quarter, recording $6.3 billion in inflows, more than six times their total for the entire year. This surge occurred as Bitcoin marked its first winning quarter in a year.
