Ethereum Exchange Reserves Plummet to Historic Low
Ethereum's supply on centralized exchanges has hit an all-time low, falling to just 3.49% of its total supply, according to data from Santiment.
This drop in exchange reserves is significant because it means that a smaller portion of Ethereum is available for sale in the market, which can make price movements more sensitive during periods of strong demand.
However, experts caution against reading too much into this development alone. A decrease in supply on exchanges does not necessarily mean an increase in price, and other factors such as staking and DeFi activity also play a role in Ethereum's supply dynamics.
Approximately 35% of Ethereum is currently staked, which means it is being utilized for blockchain applications rather than held on centralized exchanges. This shift away from exchanges can be attributed to the growing popularity of staking and DeFi activities among Ethereum holders.
