Ethereum Exchange Supply Plummets 73% in Historic Decline

Ethereum's exchange supply has dropped significantly since its June 2020 peak of 22.9 million coins, with only 6.06 million ETH remaining on platforms today.

This represents a 73% decline in easily sellable supply, according to Santiment's estimates.

The decrease is attributed to the growing trend of Ethereum holders moving their coins off exchanges and into staking, ETF wrappers, treasury strategies, and long-term custody.

Validators are also locking the crypto asset to help secure the network, further reducing supply available for market sells and panic exits.

As a result, even smaller waves of buying can have a larger impact on price movements, as demand does not need to surge for stronger price action.
