Ethereum Faces Inflation-Driven Rate Expectations Volatility
Ethereum's price has remained under pressure due to hotter US producer inflation data, which lifted rate expectations and pushed investors away from risk assets.
The PPI release showed a 0.4% increase in August from the previous month and a 5.4% rise from a year earlier, with energy prices driving much of the increase.
As a result, futures markets priced roughly a 70% probability of a September rate increase ahead of the Fed's September 16 decision, putting additional pressure on Ethereum and other risk assets.
The upcoming August CPI report could significantly change rate expectations before the Fed meeting and impact demand for Ethereum, adding another complication to its price movement.
