Ethereum Faces Uphill Battle to Hit $4,000 Before Year-End
Ethereum's recent price surge has left investors wondering if it can hit $4,000 before the end of 2026. The cryptocurrency needs to rise by approximately 48% to reach this target, and with just about three months left in the year, time is running out.
The clock is ticking, but Ethereum's history suggests that it can move fast enough. Over the past quarter, ETH has surged a staggering 72%, outperforming Bitcoin's 42% increase during the same period.
To reach $4,000 by December, Ethereum would need to average a monthly increase of around 14%. However, its growth has slowed down in recent months, and a 10% increase is nowhere near enough. The selling pressure from investors who acquired ETH a year ago could also hinder its progress near the $4,000 mark.
A monthly close above $3,000 by the end of November would keep the $4,000 target within reach for December. However, if ETH falls back below $2,672, the rally could stall, pushing the $4,000 goal into 2027.
