The Ethereum Foundation has appointed Pascal Caversaccio, known as pc, to its board of directors. This addition brings a new perspective and expertise in security and privacy to the team.

Caversaccio co-founded SEAL 911, a rapid-response unit that helps crypto protocols recover from hacks and exploits. He also wrote The Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto, an essay that applies Eric Hughes' original cypherpunk text to blockchain.

The board now consists of four members: Miyaguchi, Buterin, Storchenegger, and Caversaccio. Caversaccio's appointment comes after a turbulent stretch for Ethereum's leadership, which included a 40% budget cut and the exit of a co-director in June.

The board's job is to set Ethereum's long-term vision and ensure that management decisions align with the Foundation's values. Caversaccio will serve an initial one-year term, unpaid and voluntary, matching the terms of his fellow board members.
