Ethereum Foundation Bolsters Board with Security Expert
The Ethereum Foundation has appointed Pascal Caversaccio to its board of directors for an initial one-year voluntary term. This move brings the number of board members to four, including co-founder Vitalik Buterin and President Aya Miyaguchi.
Caversaccio is a co-founder and lead of SEAL 911, a free emergency service that has handled over 3,300 tickets and helped recover more than $180 million in assets. He also wrote The Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto and Ethereum Privacy: The Road to Self-Sovereignty.
The appointment reflects the Foundation's growing emphasis on privacy and security. The board is now tasked with overseeing the organization's vision and ensuring that management strategies align with its values. Caversaccio brings technical security expertise and experience in incident response, which will inform the Foundation's work on layer-1 privacy, post-quantum protection, and safer transactions.
The move follows a reorganization of the Foundation in June, which reduced its workforce by 54 people and divided work across protocol, access, user, community, and institutional layers. The new structure prioritizes non-negotiable protocol guarantees, including privacy and security.
