MoonPay Unveils PayBox: AI-Powered Cryptocurrency Transactions

MoonPay has introduced PayBox, a solution that enables users to make payments and carry out cryptocurrency transactions using natural language commands on ChatGPT and Claude. The tool functions as a digital vault connected to these AI platforms.

Through a customized connector, the user can describe the desired operation. The AI assistant then searches for available options, prepares the transaction, and executes the action according to previously defined permissions.

The solution offers two authorization models: 'Always Ask' mode requires each operation to be approved with a password, while 'Autonomous' mode allows the AI to execute actions within spending limits and rules set by the user.

PayBox is compatible with Solana and EVM-based networks, including Ethereum, Hyperliquid, Tempo, Base, Robinhood Chain, Arbitrum, and Polygon. It also integrates with x402, an open standard developed for payments made by AI agents.

The solution's infrastructure was built using technology from Sodot, a key management company acquired by MoonPay this year. The company claims the technology protects over $50 billion in assets and more than 10 million digital wallets.
