Ethereum Foundation Dials Down Hegotá Upgrade Scope to Focus on Censorship Resistance
The Ethereum Foundation has identified two key proposals for the upcoming Hegotá upgrade. These proposals, known as EIP-7805 (FOCIL) and EIP-8141 (Frame Transactions), are considered essential to the upgrade's success.
According to the Ethereum Foundation, these two 'must ship' proposals will prioritize censorship resistance and more flexible account authentication. The decision was made after evaluating 62 proposed Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) from roughly 60 researchers and engineers across the Foundation's Protocol cluster.
This marks the first time the Foundation has published a unified view of proposed EIPs, rather than separate opinions from individual teams. The focus on these two proposals will help to streamline the upgrade process and ensure its core goals are met.
