Ethereum Foundation Hires AI Security Researcher to Fortify Protocol Defenses

The Ethereum Foundation has opened a new role for an AI security researcher to bolster the protocol's defenses against potential vulnerabilities.

The position will focus on using artificial intelligence, fuzz testing, and manual audits to identify weaknesses across various layers of the Ethereum network, including its execution, consensus, networking, specifications, and client software.

This move comes after the Foundation's recent tests with coordinated AI agents that uncovered real protocol bugs. The researchers found that while AI tools can generate a large number of possible findings, they require human verification to reproduce each issue, assess its impact, and separate genuine vulnerabilities from false positives.
