Ethereum Gains Prediction Market Protocol Trueo as It Leaves Coinbase's Base

Trueo, a prediction-market protocol, is migrating from Coinbase's Base to Ethereum mainnet. The move aims to tap into Ethereum's network effects, liquidity, and long-term infrastructure. Co-founder Lumberg described Ethereum as the strongest environment for building a 'credibly neutral and truthful' oracle and prediction-market system.

The migration comes after Trueo initially chose Base due to higher Ethereum transaction costs at the time of its launch in March 2023. However, with conditions having changed sufficiently, the team believes Ethereum Layer 1 is now more attractive.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin welcomed Trueo's decision, highlighting its focus on decentralization, ethical design, and applications beyond conventional speculative products.
