Ethereum Golden Cross Emerges as Price Action Enters Overbought Territory
Ethereum's technical outlook has improved significantly after its recent breakout above $1,900. The cryptocurrency is now trading at around $2,500, having reclaimed the long-term trend line that had served as dynamic resistance for months.
The emergence of a golden cross structure in Ethereum's moving-average structure suggests that recent price momentum has outpaced the overall trend. This technical indicator typically signals a bullish trend, but its effectiveness is limited by being a lagging indicator. A significant portion of the rally may already be finished before the crossover appears.
While the golden cross enhances Ethereum's medium-term technical outlook, it cannot completely eliminate the risk posed by an extended rally. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicates that Ethereum is currently in overbought territory, at around 76. This emphasizes the need for caution and highlights the importance of monitoring price action closely.
With a clear move above $2,550, Ethereum may be able to reach $2,600 or possibly the $2,700 region. However, if momentum slows down, it is essential to watch the $2,400 level, as it could potentially lead to a more significant correction and bring prices closer to the $2,200-$2,150 range.
