Ethereum Hegotá Upgrade Focuses on Implementing Native Privacy Features
Ethereum developers are in the process of reviewing 66 proposals for the network's next major upgrade, Hegotá. The proposed upgrade is expected to bring significant improvements to the Ethereum protocol, with a focus on implementing native privacy features.
One proposal, FOCIL (Fork-choice enforced inclusion lists), has already been confirmed for inclusion in Hegotá. This design aims to strengthen the network's resistance to censorship by allowing a validator committee to require certain pending transactions to be included in a block.
Other proposals under consideration include Frame Transactions (EIP-8141), Keyed Nonces (EIP-8250), and Recent Roots for Frame Transactions (EIP-8272). If adopted, these features would enable native privacy, allowing users to operate without relying on intermediaries.
Toni Wahrstätter, a contributor to the Ethereum Foundation, has expressed support for all three proposals. The next step is for developers to narrow down the 66 candidates to determine which EIPs will be included in Hegotá.
