Ethereum Holds Near $2,800 Resistance Amid Mixed Signals
Ethereum (ETH) is trading at $2,721, up 0.8% on the day, but remains 2.9% below the $2,800 resistance level that has rejected three rallies since September 21. The market value stands at $330 billion with a supply of 122.1 million tokens. Over the past eleven days, ETH has closed within a tight range of $2,668.69 to $2,726.97, despite intraday swings reaching as high as $2,774 and as low as $2,630.
A record 40.2 million ETH is now staked, representing 33% of the total supply, with an additional 1.5 million ETH queued for staking. Large holders have withdrawn a net $1.86 billion from exchanges in the past 30 days. Bitmine, the largest corporate holder, added 15,112 ETH last week, now holding 6,016,414 tokens, or 4.9% of the supply, with 84% of its holdings staked. Despite these bullish signs, U.S. spot Ether ETFs saw $138 million in outflows last week, led by $74.06 million from Fidelity's fund.
On the bearish side, the staking exit queue hit its longest point of the year at 851,000 ETH, and order-book depth for ETH has thinned to less than half of Bitcoin's. The ETH/BTC ratio has slipped from 0.0325 to 0.0316 in just four days. The largest corporate buyer is nearing its accumulation target, raising concerns about future supply absorption.
The forecast remains balanced, with supply tight enough to hold the floor near $2,645, but demand not yet strong enough to break the $2,800 resistance. Until one of these factors changes, ETH is likely to continue trading within its current range, with any breakout potentially leading to a more significant move.
