Ethereum ICO Investor Moves $1.5 Million After a Decade
An early Ethereum ICO participant has broken a decade-long slumber by moving 334.7 Ethereum (ETH) worth approximately $1.5 million. The tokens were originally acquired for just $104 during the 2014 ICO, marking an extraordinary 14,269x return on investment. The investor transferred the entire stash to a new wallet after conducting a small test transaction, raising speculation about potential liquidation at current ETH prices around $4,426.
The receiving wallet shows no prior activity, suggesting it was created specifically for this transaction. This movement follows a trend of activity from other long-dormant wallets, including a notable $9 billion Bitcoin transfer facilitated by Galaxy. Despite these large-scale movements, the market has remained stable.
Ethereum recently marked its 10-year anniversary as the world's second-largest blockchain. The ecosystem has seen significant growth, with Spot Ethereum ETFs recording their best week yet, attracting $2.9 billion in inflows and achieving record trading volumes comparable to Bitcoin fund activity.
