Ethereum Marketplace Links $19B in Tokenized Assets to DeFi
Nuva Labs and Animoca Brands have launched NUVA, an Ethereum-based marketplace that connects $19 billion in tokenized real-world assets to decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. The platform starts with products tied to Figure Technologies Solutions (FIGR), a company founded by former SoFi CEO Mike Cagney.
The two flagship instruments are nvYLDS, a Treasury-linked yield vault backed by the SEC-regulated stablecoin YLDS, and nvPRIME, a token representing ownership stakes in Figure's $18.4 billion portfolio of home equity lines of credit (HELOCs). The HELOC-backed token offers yields above 7%, although access is largely restricted to institutions and accredited investors.
Nuva Labs' CEO Anthony Moro emphasized the gap in existing tokenization infrastructure, stating that NUVA addresses this by providing a unified global distribution layer for blockchain-native assets. Users can deposit stablecoins into vaults and receive ERC-20 tokens representing ownership stakes in the underlying assets.
