Ethereum May Not Be a Blockchain in 5 Years: Will it Reach $40,000?
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has shared his vision for the network's long-term direction. According to him, Ethereum may look so different by 2030 that calling it a blockchain would be technically inaccurate.
In an essay outlining Ethereum's future, Buterin argued that the network is evolving into a hybrid system combining traditional blockchain structure with cryptographic proofs, privacy technology, and computation outside the chain.
The timeline of his comments offers an intriguing contrast to Standard Chartered's expectation that Ethereum will reach $40,000 by the end of the decade. The bank has forecasted that ETH could reach $40,000 by 2030, requiring a 1,411% rise from its current price.
