Ethereum Nets Major Institutional Funding Boost with 2026 Adoption Goal
A significant milestone has been achieved in the institutional adoption of Ethereum as a settlement and treasury platform for real-world asset tokens. The Ethereum network has secured new institutional support with the finalization of its first funding round, led by BitMNR, Sharplink, and key figures Joseph Lubin and Mihai Alisie, co-founders of Ethereum.
Over 100 ecosystem participants, including crypto-native institutional players, have joined forces to accelerate the adoption of blockchain technologies by institutions. The ultimate goal is to implement onchain tokenisation, stablecoins, and market infrastructure by 2026.
The funding provides a breathing space for asset managers, exchanges, and fintechs to build compliant settlement systems, merchant payouts, and custody integrations on the Ethereum blockchain and its L2 ecosystem.
