Ethereum on the Verge of Major Breakout, Whales and Institutions Fuel Optimism
Ethereum (ETH) has been making headlines in recent weeks, and analysts believe it's on the verge of a major breakout. The asset has been consolidating over the past few days, and many are interpreting this as a sign that a significant price increase is imminent. One analyst, X user Gerla, claimed that ETH's price chart has become 'dangerous' for bears and outlined a key zone of $2,650-$2,900. Clearing this range, Gerla predicted, would lead to ETH 'accelerating hard' and potentially reaching $4,800-$5,200.
Another analyst, Altcoin Sherpa, noted that the lack of volatility in recent days could be a sign that buyers are waiting for the right moment to push ETH above $2,800. If this happens, Sherpa believes ETH could see another leg up. However, if the price fails to break through this level, the chances of a sharp correction will increase.
The recent buying spree by Ethereum whales is also a positive sign for the asset. According to Ali Martinez, whales have accumulated around 60,000 units (worth approximately $162 million) over the past week. This is on top of the 320,000 coins purchased by large investors in the seven days prior. The theory is that whales have inside information and their buying activity can spark broader enthusiasm and support additional price growth.
Another positive factor is the growing institutional appetite for ETH. Cumulative total net inflows into spot ETH ETFs have surged to almost $14 billion, with nearly $700 million attracted last week. Even more remarkably, a mysterious trader has completed 3,156 trades to date, maintaining a stunning 100% win rate.
Several analysts have made predictions for ETH's future price. Arthur Hayes, the former CEO of BitMEX, believes that ETH could reach a new all-time high of $10,000 by the end of the year, citing its status as the most secure layer-1 network. MikybullCrypto, on the other hand, expects a 'mega breakout' that could send ETH toward $7,000, followed by an ascent to $14,000 as the bull run intensifies.
