Ethereum Outshines Bitcoin Amid ETF Influx and Bullish Technical Setup
Cryptocurrency markets are showing signs of renewed investor interest, but Ethereum (ETH) is outperforming Bitcoin (BTC) in recent weeks. According to data from Bitfinex, ETH spot trading volume was 300% higher than BTC on September 29, the highest ratio since September 2025.
Bitcoin ETF inflows have surged, with $2.77 billion in net inflows recorded from September 17 through 27. This has helped underpin Bitcoin's recovery above $85,000 and indicates renewed investor appetite. However, Santiment Intelligence cautioned that rapidly accelerating inflows following a significant price rally can signal FOMO (fear of missing out) and increase the risk of an overheated market.
Ethereum's technical structure is also drawing attention, with crypto analyst Ali Martinez noting that Ethereum is forming a bull flag. If ETH closes above $2,700 on the hourly chart, it could confirm a breakout from this pattern and put $3,000 in sight.
