Ethereum Poised for $250K Surge as Tom Lee Predicts Machine Economy Boom
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and chairman of BitMine Immersion Technologies, made a bold statement at the Proof of Talk conference in Paris. He predicted that Ethereum will see a 50x increase from its current levels, reaching a price target of $250,000.
This prediction is based on Lee's 'machine economy' thesis, which states that robots and autonomous AI agents will dominate internet traffic and require a payment rail to facilitate transactions. Lee believes that Ethereum is well-positioned to be this settlement layer due to its proof-of-stake consensus mechanism and large ecosystem of developers.
Lee pointed out that Ethereum's price surged 24% on July 21, 2026, while the Roundhill Memory ETF, which tracks AI-adjacent semiconductor and memory stocks, dropped 38%. This divergence suggests that investors are starting to recognize Ethereum's potential in the machine economy.
