Ethereum Price Drops Below $2K After Brief Rally Fails

Ethereum (ETH) investors are facing uncertainty after a brief rally failed to hold above $2,000. The token fell below the $2,000 mark and is now trading near $1,960 with key support at $1,932.

The price drop was triggered by a reversal at $2,089, which saw bears regain control and technical indicators shift into bearish territory. ETH had rallied above $2,020 and $2,050 before bulls pushed the price to its session high of $2,089.

However, the move quickly reversed, with the price dropping below $2,000 and the 50% Fibonacci retracement level of the upward move from the $1,835 swing low to the $2,089 high. ETH now trades above $1,960 and the 100-hourly simple moving average, with a rising channel forming support at that level on the hourly chart.

The rejection at $2,089 signals that sellers remain active at higher levels, and the shift in momentum indicators suggests the recent rally lacked follow-through. A sustained break below the $1,932 support zone could erase the bulk of the recent recovery from $1,835 and potentially expose ETH to a retest of the $1,820 area.
