Ethereum Price Eyes Critical Break Above $2,550 Amid ETF Outflows
Ethereum's price has recovered towards $2,500 after falling as low as $2,370 this week, despite the Federal Reserve rate hike and broader crypto volatility.
Buyers have stepped in, but there is one problem: institutional ETF demand is moving in the opposite direction. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded net outflows of $142 million, $224.1 million, and $39.3 million across Sept. 15-17, totaling around $405 million leaving the funds.
The immediate question is whether Ethereum can turn this rebound into a breakout above $2,550. A decisive move above this level would clear an important short-term resistance area and potentially open a path towards $2,800 or even $3,300, although that scenario requires confirmation.
ETF investors are still selling, which makes the $2,550 level even more significant. If ETH breaks resistance despite continued institutional outflows, it would suggest spot-market demand is absorbing that selling pressure.
