Ethereum Price Faces Crucial Resistance as Bitmine Stakes $289.4M
Ethereum's price is nearing the $1,900 to $2,000 resistance zone, where it has repeatedly faced rejection in the past. This area marks a long-term descending trendline and the 200-day EMA, which have consistently led to sharp drops of around 37% to 48% in previous instances.
Bitmine, a significant player in the Ethereum ecosystem, has been actively buying and staking ETH. In the past week alone, it added $289.4 million worth of ETH to its holdings, pushing its total staked ETH holdings to 4.2% of the entire supply. This move has reduced the available supply on exchanges, potentially creating a 'supply squeeze' scenario.
The Wyckoff pattern suggests that Ethereum's price may be forming a base structure, with resistance around $2,500 to $2,630 and major support between $1,585 and $1,705. A sustained break above the resistance band would support the bullish case, while a rejection at this zone could lead to a move back toward $1,300 to $1,500.
