Ethereum Price Forecasted to Reach $5,000 as Institutional Adoption Grows
Arthur Hayes, chief investment officer of Maelstrom, predicts that Ethereum's price will reach $5,000 in the next 12 months. He cites Robinhood's adoption of ETH as a model for other financial firms to follow. This prediction is based on the idea that widespread adoption by major financial institutions will drive up demand and justify a higher price for the cryptocurrency.
The key factor affecting Hayes' forecast is the potential for imitation by other firms. If Ethereum-related tools and services offered by Robinhood lead other financial firms to offer similar tools and services, Hayes believes this will create a new story for Ethereum and fuel user demand for ETH. This could justify a higher price of about $5,000, which would represent an increase of around 89% from the current price.
Ryan Selkis, founder of Messari, mentioned on Twitter that Hayes predicted Bitcoin to reach $150,000, Ethereum between $5,000-$8,000. The prediction is not certain and has several caveats, as the Ethereum price has recently dropped below $2,800. However, ongoing interest in staking Ethereum remains strong, with over 1.6 million ETH waiting to validate transactions.
