Ethereum Price Grinds Near $2,500 as Glamsterdam Upgrade Looms
Ethereum's price has been hovering around $2,500 as anticipation builds for its upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade. The development team successfully cleared a key rehearsal for the update this week, with test blocks processing new block-building rules ahead of a proposed October 6 deployment on the Sepolia public testnet.
Nethermind's client processed over 570 billion gas across 2,302 tests in under four minutes, showcasing its ability to handle increased capacity. The testnet's gas limit jumped from 60 million to 200 million shortly after going live, a nearly three-and-a-half times increase in per-block capacity.
The market's reaction has been one of measured optimism rather than euphoria, setting up an interesting technical picture. Ethereum's price has struggled to clear the $2,493-$2,508 resistance shelf on a closing basis, with daily moving averages remaining stacked bullish.
