Ethereum Price Holds Firm at $1,900 as Staking Hits Record High
Ethereum's price has been holding steady at around $1,900.73, marking a 0.09% increase from Tuesday's session. This comes after a week that saw little movement in the market, with Ether closing on Friday, August 14 at approximately $1,870.
The altcoin complex had a mixed day, with XRP falling 0.43% to $1.00 and BNB slipping 0.19% to $603.26. Solana added 0.52% to $76.10, while TRON held at $0.33.
Bitcoin outperformed, trading between $64,203 and $64,270, up 1.17% to 1.27%. The macro backdrop was not in favor of risk assets, with Brent crude reaching approximately $91.76 per barrel and the 30-year Treasury yield printing 5.323%, the highest since 2007.
Staking has hit a record high of 34.4% with over 40 million ETH locked across 1.1 million validators. BitMine holds 5.82 million ETH, accounting for 4.8% of supply, with 87% staked and a projected yield of $250M.
