Ethereum Price Holds Near $2,730 as POAP Founder Transfers $10.79 Million in ETH
POAP founder Patricio Worthalter transferred 4,000 ETH worth $10.79 million to Gemini, with the Ethereum price holding near $2,730. Worthalter still controls 54,967 ETH, valued at nearly $149 million, according to Ember. This move does not necessarily indicate a sale, as exchange deposits can precede various trading activities.
The transfer is notable, given that Ethereum is trading near the 2,800-3,000 area, with some analysts predicting a move to $3,000 if it breaks through the 2,775-2,800 resistance zone. Crypto Patel's $60,000 target, while a long-term bull-case projection, remains conditional and not confirmed for the current month. The weekly RSI and MACD indicators remain bullish, but neither confirms a move through the current resistance zone.
The Ethereum price has been recovering from levels around $1,600 reached in mid-2026, with the MACD and RSI indicators showing positive momentum. However, a sustained break above $2,800 would be necessary to move ETH beyond recent resistance and put $3,000 back in focus. Losing the current recovery structure would leave the mid-2,600 region as the first area to watch before lower support around 2,400-2,500.
