Ethereum Price Sees Path to $12,000 as Analyst Maps Road Ahead
Analyst John Gillen believes Ethereum (ETH) has cleared a crucial level and is now poised to reach new heights. ETH recently moved above $2,500, a key resistance that Gillen said must not be lost. He expects the price to quickly rise to $3,000, which would set the stage for a potential run toward $10,000 to $12,000 over the next two years if certain conditions hold.
Gillen outlined a step-by-step roadmap for Ethereum's price path: breaking and holding above $2,500, reaching $3,000 'pretty quickly', clearing and holding above $5,000, which would lead to a range of $6,000 to $10,000, and finally hitting $10,000 to $12,000 over the next 24 months.
Gillen noted that Ethereum's early rallies were priced on promises of becoming a world computer and base layer for global finance. The network has since delivered on these promises, including switching from proof of work to proof of stake without downtime, launching products with institutions, and dominating tokenized assets, stablecoins, and agentic finance.
The biggest variable in Gillen's view is where institutional money settles over the next two years. If it stays on Ethereum, he believes the case for reaching $10,000 becomes 'very strong'. However, if it flows to rival public networks or private permissioned chains, Ethereum may not reach this target.
