Ethereum Price Struggles Amid Record Staking Levels
Ethereum has reached a significant milestone with over 43 million ETH now staked, representing about 35% of its total supply. This high level of staking participation is expected to reduce the liquid supply available for trading.
Despite this tightening supply, Ethereum's price recently fell below $2,400 due to weak demand influenced by regulatory uncertainty and ETF outflows.
The company Pluang reported that 46 out of 50 major cryptocurrencies priced on their platform rose in value as of September 17, 2026, while only 3 fell. Notably, Balancer (BAL) increased by 11.14% to Rp16.297 with a typical hold time of 85 days.
The high staking participation may make Ethereum more sensitive to future demand increases, potentially pushing prices back toward $2,600 or higher if buying interest strengthens.
